After taking the UK and West End by storm in 2013, burlesque musical Miss Nightingale will be coming home to Yorkshire when it plays at City Varieties this April. The show follows northern songbird Maggie and her Jewish composer, George, as they struggle to find their big break. She longs for stardom and the high life. He wants to bring a bit of his beloved Berlin to Blighty.
Everything changes when they are picked up by wealthy man about town Sir Frank Worthington-Blythe who needs an act to launch his new nightclub. Maggie is transformed into Music Hall star ‘Miss Nightingale’ and her outrageous outfits, satirical songs and scandalous love life make her the toast of London. But away from the showbiz glamour, heartache and secrets threaten to change their lives forever.
