Havana Rakatan returns to Sadler’s Wells

Havana Rakatan is returning to Sadlerā€™s Wells next month for its sixth season.

The show is one of Sadlerā€™s Wellsā€™ most successful productions and it will return to the Peacock Theatre from 6th to 24th May 2014. Havana Rakatan tells the story of over 500 years of dancing in the Carribean island renowned for its party spirit.

Dance styles in the show include ancient African rituals, the mamba, the cha-cha and the salsa. Live music comes courtesy of famous Cuban eight-piece Son band Turquino. The vocal talent of the show is provided by lead singer Geydi Chapman.

Havana Rakatan is a captivating journey through the dance and music of a truly unique country. Nilda Guerra is the general artistic director, choreographer and dancer with the ensemble.
