Grumpy Old Women in West Yorkshire

Grumpy Old Women Jenny Eclair, Susie Blake and Kate Robbins are back in Leeds next month with their brand new show Fifty Shades of Beige.

Jenny Éclair, Perrier Award-winning comedian and  writer, has written the stage show; “This is the third of the Grumpies and not a single line has been re-used,” she says. “So if you’ve been to a Grumpy tour before, you’ll see all new material.”

Jenny is an ‘original’ Grumpy Old Woman having been approached for the role about 10 years ago. “I thought ‘how rude!’ But telly  pays the mortgage so you do what you can.”

Jenny is joined by Susie Blake (Mrs Brown’s Boys, Coronation Street) and actress and singer Kate Robbins (Where The Heart Is, Casualty) in the jam-packed new show  which includes learning the art of ‘Grumpy Grooming’, the joy of large pants, a free nagging master class (how to get your own way without him even noticing), beards for women, Complimentary Anger Management workshop, middle-aged drinking: the rules, navigating the smorgasbord of worry, voluntary euthanasia vs. retirement, how to customise an unwanted pole dancing kit and a mercifully brief Zumba demonstration.

“It’s a big, theatrical experience,” continues Jenny. “I tell you what – it isn’t boring. Oh – and there’s a brochure with a colouring in page and dot to dot. So that’s nice.”

Return of the Grumpy Old Women – Fifty Shades of Beige is at Leeds Grand Theatre on Sunday 1st June at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £23 including booking fee. Book online at leedsgrandtheatre.com or call box office on 0844 848 2700
