Fancy some Foreplay?

Andy Jordan Productions is delighted to announce the World Premiere of Foreplay, a new play by celebrated scientist Carl Djerassi, opening for a 5-week run at London’s Kings Head Theatre on Wednesday 30 April 2014 and playing until Saturday 31st May.

Sex of the body or sex of the mind? Which is more pleasurable? What goes deeper? Which hurts more?

Some of the greatest minds of the post-war generation, Theodor Adorno, Hannah Arendt and Walter Benjamin are caught up in a heady mix of sexual and academic jealousy, infidelity, intrigue and mutual obsession.

When Theodor, his wife Gretel, and Hannah are confronted by a mysterious woman who threatens to reveal secrets that could change their lives forever, all three must face the lies, jealousies and sexual proclivities they have hidden for decades, testing their loyalty to each other to the utmost. A psycho-sexual thriller of betrayal and revenge, Foreplay examines the chasm between the public and private for people in the public eye, what is erotic and what is pornographic, and the uneasy relationship between genius and hypocrisy in us all.

Carl Djerassi, who celebrated his 90th Birthday in 2013, is an internationally renowned chemist best known for revolutionising modern society with ‘the invention’ of the contraceptive pill.

Foreplay is directed and produced by Andy Jordan. Casting is to be announced.
