Dress Rehearsal is an unusual play using classic opera and folk numbers to tell a new story. It runs from 9th – 20th February at OSO Arts Centre.
What really goes on backstage, when the public face is replaced by a private one? Dress Rehearsal follows five performers over one evening as they endeavour to bring opera to a London pub. The play explores the failures, ambitions and rivalries when tensions come to a head.
It combines comedy and tragedy and explores the emotions at the heart of these songs by Mozart, Bizet, Verdi, Rossini, Purcell and more.
