Crimes Under the Sun set for Riley Smith Theatre

Crimes Under the Sun, a comedy thriller directed by James Farrell, is set for Leeds University Union‘s Riley Smith Theatre this May.

Produced by award-winning theatre company New Old Friends, the show features four actors playing multiple outrageous characters, and a plot that romps along in the company’s trademark inventive style.

A secluded island hotel just off the English coast becomes a crime scene, as a scandal-inducing femme-fatale is felled. All the guests on the island are suspects, but are they alone and is this the first crime this idyllic island has witnessed?

Stephen Brennan, Theatre and Performance Manager at Leeds University Union said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming New Old Friends to the Riley Smith Theatre. They are one of the best young theatre companies in the UK and it is really exciting to have them performing in Leeds. It promises to be a brilliant night of theatre and comedy.”

A hilarious but murderous trip to a classic English Riviera retreat – inspired by the works of Agatha Christie, Hitchcock and film noir – Crimes Under the Sun is a theatrical experience which shouldn’t be missed.

Crimes Under the Sun is at the Riley Smith Theatre at Leeds University Union for one night only on Tuesday 8th May 2018. Tickets cost £12/10. Book online at Leedstickets.com.

The production will transfer to Artrix (Bromsgrove) on 9th May. For a full list of tour dates visit Newoldfriends.co.uk.
