Tracy Leanne Jefford and Leon Mallet leave The X Factor 2017

The search for The X Factor 2017 winner continued this weekend and the pressure was on. This week’s theme was Viva Latino, which seemed to be a tough challenge for some of the contestants. Judges and mentors, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell were there to support their acts.

Last night the groups and the boys gave their all but unfortunately it was the end of the road for Leon Mallet, who seemed to be too far out of his comfort zone.

Leon struggled with the theme and this cost him dearly. Leon’s performance was good even though you could tell he wasn’t too comfortable with the song choice but his vocals were good and the song arrangement suited the theme.

What the judges said: Simon thought Leon could do with firing his choreographer and that he was a good singer and should own it. Nicole added that he is a fighter and that he sounded great.

You can watch him perform Get Lucky (Daft Punk Ft. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers) on last night’s show below:

It was also the end of the road for the feistiest contestant this year, Tracy Leanne Jefford.

I was surprised to see her go as Tracy Leanne really impressed me tonight, her unique voice on the show really stood out every week and her sassy performance was what Latino music is all about. I loved every minute of it.

What the judges said: Louis commented that it worked for him and Simon added that he had lots of respect and admiration for her and thought she brought it. Mentor Nicole said that she was proud to have her on her team and to share her journey.

You can relive Tracey Leanne’s performance of JLo’s hit, Ain’t Your Mama below:

Next week’s theme is George Michael.

The X Factor 2017 continues next Saturday on ITV.
