The X Factor 2017 week 2 top 5 performances part 2

The X Factor 2017’s, Viva Latino theme week continued this evening with performances from the overs and girls. Contestants from both categories battled it out tonight.

This evening’s live show also included a performance form former X Factor judge and mentor, Rita Ora. I was watching and can see that the pressure is starting to build for this year’s contestants.  Nevertheless some performances shone whilst others left me cold. Keep reading if you want to know, which were my favourite acts tonight.

5. Grace Davies – Ciao Adios by Anne-Marie

Grace performed a cover this week and also danced alongside dancers. Grace looked less comfortable on stage tonight but she took a risk getting out of her comfort zone and did brilliantly. Her vocals were great and she looked like she had fun.

What the judges said: Nicole said she wanted her to enjoy the performance more. Louis said she showed she was a great performer too. Simon did not think this was her at her best but thought she’d make it through to next week’s show.

4. Tracyleanne Jefford – Ain’t Your Mama by Jennifer Lopez

Tracyleanne really impressed tonight, her unique voice on the show really stands out every week and her sassy performance was what Latino music is all about. I loved it.

What the judges said: Louis commented that it worked for him and Simon added that he had lots of respect and admiration for her and thought she brought it. Mentor Nicole said that she was proud to have her on her team and to share her journey.

 3. Holly Tandy – Despacito (remix) by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Ft. Justin Bieber

Holly looked like she was out of her comfort zone singing the biggest summer hit of this year. Even though the young singer looked like a million dollars, her Spanish was not great but that being said her vocals were good and she looked fearless performing.

What the judges said: Simon thought she sounded relevant and the song did a lot for her tonight, mentor Sharon added that she thought she owned the song.

2. Kevin Davy White – Smooth by Santana Ft. Rob Thomas

Kevin’s performance of Santana’s sexy single was exceptional. The French singer sounded great and delivered an incredibly sexy performance.

What the judges said: Sharon commented that he took the night into a different direction and blew her away. Louis thought he is a class act and Simon added that the show needed people like him. Mentor, Nicole said that he was the real deal.

1. Rai-Elle Williams – Bailando by Enrique Iglesias Ft. Sean Paul, Descemer Bueno & Gente De Zona

Rai-Elle easily delivered one of the best performances of this weekend. The young artist really understood the theme and brought it to life with her fiery performance. Her positive attitude on stage and vocal range worked wonders.

What the judges said: Nicole loved her performance and said that her work ethic was great, Louis added that no one was giving as much to the competition as her. Mentor Sharon added that she was her ray of sunshine.

The search for The X Factor winner of 2017 will continue next Saturday on ITV.
