The X Factor 2017 Judges’ Houses part 1 recap

The X Factor 2017 continued tonight and it was time for the contestants to find out where they would meet their mentors as they headed to the Judges’ Houses.

First up were the Overs who were flown to South Africa to meet mentor Nicole Scherzinger. Nicole enlisted the services of grime artist and multiple award-winner Stormzy to help her make-up her mind and pick the final contestants going through to the live shows.

It was an emotional roller-coaster for the contestants, as they performed in front of Stormzy and their mentor Nicole in a bid to secure a space on the live shows. Unfortunately, even though the contestants poured their heart and souls into their performances, only three could make it through to the next stage of the competition.

Nicole needed to make a decision and after much deliberation she chose Matt Linnen, Kevin Davy White and Tracy Leanne Jefford.

Next the Girls were flown to San Francisco to meet Sharon Osbourne and she enlisted the help of not one but two guest judges, her kids Kelly and Jack Osbourne.

The Girls were delighted to go on a tour of San Francisco instead of Dublin, which Sharon jokingly told them they would fly to. With high spirits and expectations, the Girls sang to Sharon, Jack and Kelly.

Some of the Girls didn’t cope under the pressure, with tears and panic unfolding during and before some of the performances. Could these Girls face the pressure of the weekly live shows if they can’t handle singing in front of the judges?

Kelly and Jack helped their mother as best as they could but ultimately it was Sharon that had the final say. Her top three picks for the live shows from the Girls’ category were Rai-Elle Williams, Holly Tandy and Grace Davies.

On Sunday night the Boys and Groups will face judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell along with their celebrity guests as they sing for a spot on the live shows.

The X Factor 2017 continues tomorrow night on ITV at 7pm.
