Sam Black and Sean and Conor price leave The X Factor 2017

This week was Crazy In Love week on The X Factor but not all contestants felt the love from the public as two left the competition last night. Indeed it was the end of the road for Sam Black from the boys and Sean and Conor Price from the groups.

This weekend the contestants were singing for a chance to record a song with award-winning author, Ali Tamposi.

Sam was by far one of the weaker contestants on the show and I am surprised he lasted this long. Last night his performance was pitchy and his moves quite cheesy. Even though Sam always brought great energy to the stage, he could not manage to sing well enough to warrant to stay on the competition.

What the judges said: Simon compared Sam to a prawn cocktail and told him that everything that he was doing had already been done before and blamed Louis for the poor song choice. Nicole thought it was the worst performance he had done so far on the competition.

Sean and Conor’s performance of Issues was similar to what they do every week and it all felt very repetitive. I did think that the boys vocals were better this week and the song choice really suited them. Overall this was probably one of their best performances yet but not the most original., which is probably why the boys did not manage to score enough votes to stay on The X Factor.

What the judges said: Louis loved the boys performance and asked everyone to vote for them. Sharon added it was excellent and that the boys shined. Nicole wanted to give constructive criticism and told them that they could have made a better effort with the interpretation of the song but still was impressed with the performance.

The X Factor semi-final starts next Saturday on ITV.
