The Walking Dead is back for its eighth season and the show really needs to deliver after a disappointing seventh season.
Much of last season was taken up with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group being suppressed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and The Saviors. Fans were expecting an explosive showdown but unfortunately that’s not what we got.
Instead the season peaked with its premiere when Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) were brutally murdered by Negan. After that point the main characters were separated and Negan never rose far above cartoonish.

In the season finale the group came back together and vowed to band together to take out Negan. Hopefully during season 8 things will truly come to a head and the show will get back on track!
The season premiere is Mercy. Rick and his group, along with the Kingdom and Hilltop, have banded together to bring the fight to Negan and the Saviors.
