The Resident 1×03 Comrades in Arms preview

Conrad (Matt Czuchry) was left fuming when Dr. Bell (Bruce Greenwood) stole the heart he needed for a transplant patient on the latest episode of The Resident.

Treating young patient Micah Stevens (Patrick Walker) for two years, Conrad was ecstatic when a heart became available. Before he got a chance to take Micah into surgery, the heart was reallocated to a congressman that was being treated by Dr. Bell.

Conrad argued with Bell about the heart but was quickly reminded of his place in the hierarchy. In response Conrad switched out a blood test from the congressman to make it look like the heart wasn’t a match meaning that Micah got his heart after all.

Bell was left with no choice but to ask the parents of a brain dead patient for their permission to donate her organs so he could save the congressman, and more importantly save face.

Elsewhere in the episode Devon (Manish Dayal) is put to the test when he was forced to make a split-second decision and Nic (Emily VanCamp) got on the wrong side of Dr. Lane Hunter (Melina Kanakaredes) by questioning her judgement publicly.

The next episode of the season is Comrades in Arms. An old Army buddy visits Conrad, while the rest of the team battle to save the life of an uninsured patient.
