Reddington (James Spader) started to rebuild his empire in the season five premiere of The Blacklist.
Enlisting the help of Liz (Megan Boone), who finally knows that Red is her bioligical father, Red targeted blacklister Smokey Putnum (Michael Aronov). Liz was surprised to discover that Red was more interested in collecting his bounty for catching Smokey than he was helping the FBI task force.

Meanwhile Red continued to try and locate the mysterious suitcase unaware that Tom (Ryan Eggold) had returned home with it in his possession. The end of the episode suggested that Tom’s life was hanging in the balance as Red stood over him and shot a gun in his direction.
Elsewhere in the episode Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) was blackmailed by the fixer who covered up Laurel Hitchin’s (Christine Lahti) death and Aram (Amir Arison) came clean to Harold (Harry Lennix) about his romance with Samar (Mozhan Marnò).
The next episode of the season is Greyson Blaise. Red sets his sights on a billionaire Blacklister and high-end art thief. Tom’s in for a shock as he digs deeper into the mystery of the suitcase.
