The Blacklist returns tonight and there is so much to catch up on before it does.
The action-packed season 4 finale saw Liz (Megan Boone) finally discover that Red (James Spader) really is her father as Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert’s) revenge mission came to an end. It looked very much like Mr. Kaplan is really dead this time but who knows in this show?

Elsewhere Tom (Ryan Eggold) returned and he had possession of a suitcase containing someone’s remains. Red was determined to get on his hands on it but he has no idea that Tom has it.
Also Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) accidentally killed Hitchin (Christine Lahti) during a tense confrontation that saw him loose his temper. Is he going down?
The season premiere is Smokey Putnum. A new series means a new start for Red – his empire is in tatters and he needs help building it back up. Tom finds himself in quite a predicament.
