I 100% agree to all of the above, especially the parts about Mon-El and Winn. Jeremy Jordan and Chris Wood FTW. And while you’re at it, put those two together more often! I loved their developing bromance.

    1. Pip_EntFocus says:

Thanks Michelle. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment 🙂 Love the idea of more Mon-Winn! 🙂

  2. Tess del Carmen says:

    S1 was disorganized and disengaging.

The character of Mon-el brought some realism to Supergirl by allowing her to have a relationship along with it’s ups and downs.

Mon-el attracted two kind of audiences…comic book men in their 40s who were excited by Mon-el as DC character, “Valor” and 14 year old girls excited about shipping, “Karamel”.

I like Chris Wood, he did an impressive performance in the show, Containment.

Thanks for reading the article and commenting Tess!

    2. FMG says:

And you sound like the second group.

Hi Pip, I agree with you on a lot of the points – especially on more Cat Grant. Season 2 suffered from her absence, and it was nonsensical the way they seemed to completely forget she even existed. A mention of a text or other message when Kara posted an article would’ve been reasonable (and could be worked into any story once they learned Calista would be able to return). Hopefully, as you said since The

However – I really disliked the character of Mon-El. I think his introduction was rushed, and Kara’s season 1 long romance (or unrequited pining) for James was way too hastily canned only to introduce another love interest so quickly. Chris Wood has good comedic timing (in fact, I think he’d be really well-served by a 1/2 hour sitcom!), but I’d be very happy if Mon-El stayed in that wormhole forever. I know that’s very unlikely, given the amount of screen time he got in Season 2 and how they’re clearly building him up to be more. If he’s that important and this Legion thing is coming, spin it off into another show. Supergirl can do without a love interest for a while. Season 1 definitely had it’s faults, but I much preferred it over S2.

Jeremy Jordan is so talented, would love to see more from him – maybe revisit the Toyman storyline? And I agree, James was poorly served by last season as well. I hope he can be utilized better. Would love to see them focus on Jeremiah, too – and can someone just say where Lucy Lane went? I know Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s got her own projects, but I hate when shows just drop characters never to mention them again. I haven’t heard, but I hope Brenda Strong will be back as well, she’s so good at being bad.

    1. Pip_EntFocus says:

Hi Jane. Thanks for commenting and taking the time to read the article. Mon-El did seem to be polarising but I was a fan. I think if he’s to come back they should give him a storyline that isn’t reliant on his romance with Kara. I’d like to see Lucy back too and Jeremiah!

      1. Jane Q. Doe says:

I know his character was different in the comics (from what people have said, I’m not a comics gal). If they had handled his introduction better – especially if he’s supposed to be such a linchpin for a potential spin-off as I suspect – then I think the fan reaction would’ve been much less divisive; to me, shoving them together so quickly (especially after she broke up with James) was a disservice to both characters for the sake of a “cute” romance. If it were possible for him to return and the show NOT make it appear the “rebirth of the star-crossed forever loves”, that would certainly be a plus. I just don’t have a lot of faith in that after last season.

I appreciate being able to disagree politely with you on this issue Pip. 🙂

        1. Pip_EntFocus says:

Me too. It’s nice to have a civil conversation with someone who has different and interesting views! Thank you 🙂

  4. Rei Ayanami says:

I concur with all except Lena, she can embrace her Luthor side but to the point where her love for Kara overcomes that evilness and that she is willing to do a lot for Kara. The story line should focus on both Lena and Kara getting closer, as well as her finding out that Kara is indeed Supergirl.

I also agree with Jane Q Doe, the Mon El can stay in the worm hole.

    1. Pip_EntFocus says:

I think the Lena and Kara dynamic is really interesting. Very Clark and Lex from Smallville. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes! Thanks for commenting 🙂

  5. Kristen says:

I agree with most, except I think Brooks(James) isn’t that good of an actor. He also isn’t like Jimmy Olsen at all to me, at least the original. I like Lena being good, and want it to last as long as possible. And I really hope they find Mon-El and find a way to bring him back to earth. I love Alex and Maggie a lot, and hope they don’t mess it up, I don’t know why you think Maggie will say no. She has the biggest smile on her face when Alex asked.

    1. Pip_EntFocus says:

The only reason I think Maggie may say no is that Floriana Lima isn’t a series regular during the next season so it’s going to be interesting to see how they keep the relationship going if she’s hardly in the season. I hope I’m wrong!
