YouTube star Joe Sugg has been confirmed as the fourth celebrity for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
With over 25 million followers on YouTube, Suggs is also an author and vlogger. The brother of fellow YouTuber Zoella, Sugg creates videos based around challenges, pranks, impressions and gaming, across his three YouTube channels.
The news was announced on Radio 1ās Breakfast Show presented by Scott Mills this morning.
Joe said, “I’m honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year! Not going to lie, Iām very nervous about it, it’s totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that’s what life is all about I guess. Funnily enough Iām writing this statement whilst on the way to surprise my grandparents with the news. They are going to be so happy which will definitely make up for any embarrassment or cringe caused by my questionable rhythm.ā
Outside of YouTube Sugg is the author of the graphic novel series Username: Evie, which was fastest selling graphic novel of all-time. He wrote, starred in and produced the travelogue specials Joe and Caspar: Hit the Road and Hit the Road USA with Caspar Lee.
Sugg recently launched a pop-up merchandise store in London’s Covent Garden and a management company for emerging digital talent.
He will join the previously announced celebs Katie Piper, Faye Tozer and Danny John-Jules when Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday and Sunday nights this autumn.
