Actress Gemma Atkinson is the fourth celebrity contestant confirmed to be participating in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Best-known for her roles in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, Atkinson was revealed as a contestant this morning on BBC Breakfast.
Gemma said, āI am honoured to be asked and so thrilled to be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2017! I’m beyond excited and incredibly nervous but I am looking forward to learning a new skill in ballroom and latin dancing and taking on this new challenge.ā
As well as her soap roles, Atkinson has also appeared in The Bill, Law and Order and Waterloo Road. She joined the Key 103 breakfast team in Manchester in February to host their breakfast show.
Atkinson joins previously announced contestants Mollie King, Davood Ghadami and Ruth Langsford. More celebrities will be revealed over the coming days.
