Singer Anastacia is the tenth celebrity confirmed for this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The I’m Outta Love singer made the announcement live on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 this morning. Anastacia was a guest along with former Strictly contestant Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Preacher star Dominic Cooper.
“I’m a total ’10’ on the level of excitement and definitely a ’10’ scared! Seriously though, I can’t wait to get started. Taking part in Strictly is a dream, it’s such a new challenge for me I’ve never done anything like this before so I hope I pull it off!!! I’ve got a lot of training to do before I’m twinkle toes so I’m eager to get my partner and get going! I’m ready!” said Anastacia.
Anastacia was born in Chicago and released her debut album Not That Kind in 2000. Over her career she’s had huge hits with songs such as Sick and Tired and Left Outside Alone. She has sold over 30 million records, embarked on four headline tours and collected an MTV Europe Music Award.
More celebrity contestants for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing will be announced soon.
