Olivia (Kerry Washington) decided to play dirty to get her own way on the latest episode of Scandal.
When Mellie (Bellamy Young) chose to name Jake (Scott Foley) as her new Chief of Staff, Olivia refused to step down and resign. Olivia leaked news that Jake’s wife was having an affair to put press attention on him and QPA were hired to clean up the mess.
Cyrus (Jeff Perry) gave Mellie and Jake a way to frame Olivia and then gave Olivia documents proving that Mellie was involved in a coverup. Olivia presented the papers to Mellie and planned to reveal everything to the press.
A confrontation with Quinn (Katie Lowes), who negotiated her freedom with Rowan (Joe Morton), results in Olivia being shot by a sniper as she saved Quinn’s life.
When the time came for Olivia to throw Mellie under a bus, Olivia surprised everyone by actually resigning instead.
At the end of the episode Quinn returned to QPA and revealed to her friends that she was still alive.
The next episode of the season is Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself. In a special crossover episode, Olivia gets an unexpected visit from Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) from How to Get Away with Murder.
