Winner takes it all
Aria continued to do A.D.’s bidding again this week and she was tasked with slipping a burner phone into the Hastings’ house and playing a damaging audio file (more on that later). She completed her task and left the house but began to act strangely around her friends. Following a dance lesson with Ezra (Ian Harding), Aria was confronted by her fiancé who believed that she didn’t fully trust him after their rock road to the altar.
That night Aria had a musical nightmare (as you do) that Ezra was going to be locked up. After waking from the dream, Aria was told by A.D. that her prize was in the Brew somewhere so she began to search for it. Under a table she found an envelope with her name on it and inside were two pieces of the puzzle. Mona (Janel Parrish) saw her, but that didn’t stop Aria going to Ali’s (Sasha Pieterse) to put the puzzle pieces in the game and retrieve her prize – the file that A.D. had on her.
The sins of the father
Thanks to Aria’s dastardly action, Spencer and the Hastings family heard an audio recording of Peter (Nolan North) and Mary (Andrea Parker) talking about the murder of Jessica (Andrea Parker). Turns out that Peter knew a lot more than he’d let on and he was involved in Mrs D’s untimely demise. That revelation led Veronica (Lesley Fera) to cancel their plans to move and she stepped down from her new job fearing that the secret would eventually come out and destroy the family. Spencer also found the burner phone while unpacking some boxes.
Spencer was ambushed in her car by Mary following a tense exchange with Furey (Nicholas Gonzalez). Mary explained about Peter’s role in Jessica’s death and told Spencer that she hadn’t planted the phone inside the Hastings house. Spencer shared that information with her family and she told Mary that she did believe her.
There’s something about Mona
Hanna (Ashley Benson) was forced to tell the Liars that Mona knew all about the game and Emily (Shay Mitchell) found herself in an uneasy alliance with her. Mona made an appointment with the fertility doctor that impregnated Alison and convinced Emily to go with her and pretend they were a couple. Going through with the charade, Mona came clean and pushed the doctor for information but he gave nothing away. Mona stole a magazine from his desk that had his home address on and the girls went and searched through his mail.
Returning to his office, Mona told him they knew he’d been paid a lot of money and threatened to report him. He said he didn’t know the identity of the donor but could give them an ID number. Mona agreed to take it. Having worked well with Mona, Emily gave her the burner phone from Spencer and asked her to see if she could find out who it belonged to. She also wanted to continue working on finding the donor but Mona cut her off insisting she needed sleep.
Mona went into her apartment and logged on to her computer. Behind the desk was a wall with information about all of the Liars, schematics for the board game and the shovels that had gone missing following Archer’s (Huw Collins) disappearance.
Furey tried to intimidate Hanna and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) but didn’t get far. He mentioned that he had already spoken with Ashley (Laura Leighton), leading Hanna to panic. During a moment alone with Ashley, Caleb was asked if Hanna was up to something and he lied saying that Hanna was fine.
Ashley paid a visit to Hanna’s and asked Caleb about his intentions towards her daughter. That led him to ask for Hanna’s hand in marriage and the two recently reunited love birds went camping to celebrate their engagement.
