Nashville 4×20 It’s Sure Gonna Hurt preview

The aftermath of Maddie’s (Lennon Stella) emancipation hearing played out on the latest episode of Nashville.

Now legally free of her parents, Maddie was busy working with Cash (Jessy Schram) to set up a showcase in a bid to get a record deal. Rayna (Connie Britton) went to the showcase and saw that Maddie was using the surname Jaymes. Cash also persuaded Maddie to sign with a New York label so she could break ties completely with her mother.

Deacon (Charles Esten) meanwhile tried to patch things up with Frankie (Mark Collie) but got a hostile reception where he was told that he was no longer part of The Beverly.

Elsewhere Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) reunited with Noah (Derek Hough) at the premiere of their movie, Luke (Will Chase) was pressured to drop Will (Chris Carmack) when radio stations refused to play his music, and Will went home for his mother’s funeral where he realised his dad does care for him despite his words and actions.

The penultimate episode of the season is It’s Sure Gonna Hurt. Gunnar gets to perform with music legend Elton John. Rayna and Deacon reflect on their relationship while Scarlett does some soul searching. Luke goes on a talk show to speak on a subject important to him, but the focus quickly shifts to a family emergency.
