Charlie Brown – On My Way single review

Rising star Charlie Brown has been garnering lots of attention thanks to buzz singles Dependency and She Makes Me. Often wrongly labelled as a rapper (seriously do people not listen to his music?), Charlie is set to have his breakthrough with new single On My Way. As we write this review the song has been sitting pretty in the iTunes Top 10 all week.

On My Way is a mid-tempo number that aims to inspire the listener. Charlie sings with conviction that he may not have conquered the world yet but heā€™s one step closer and well on his way. Vocally he is more soulful than youā€™d expect by looking at him. Parts of the vocal delivery are reminiscent of the way Jessie J sings with his attitude showing throw in talk-sing moments. The chorus is a killer and made for arena concerts full of fans singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs.

On My Way is a fitting song for this point in Charlie Brownā€™s career. All signs suggest that he truly is on his way and it seems the sky could be the limit. On My Way is a strong single and the best offering from Charlie yet. Heā€™s certainly one of the most interesting male artists to come out of the UK for a while. With a great look, songs to back it up and some serious swag weā€™ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
