Backstreet Boys – In A World Like This single review

Backstreet Boys are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The boyband have been topping the charts and selling millions since they first debuted on the scene. 2013 sees them release their eighth studio album In A World Like This, their first as a five-piece since 2005’s Never Gone. With Kevin Richardson back in the fold, the band has just released the title track as their new single.

In A World Like This sees Backstreet Boys teaming up with long-time collaborator Max Martin and songwriters Kristian Lundin and Savan Kotecha. The track is a fresh, acoustic-driven pop song that features solo vocals from all five of the band members. The chorus is the kind of catchy melody that Backstreet Boys excel at. The song is a more mature offering from the band whilst retaining the magic formula that the band has perfected in their 20 years.

If the rest of the material is as good as In A World Like This, then the band’s new album should be a corker. Having Kevin back in the band seems to have helped the band up their game and return to form. With the promise of a world tour later in the year (or early next year) it seems like Backstreet’s back and ready to take over the world again.
