Weezer surprise fans by releasing Weezer (The Teal Album)

Weezer have surprised their fans by releasing covers album Weezer (The Teal Album).

After incorporating a variety of covers into their sets during their US summer tour in 2018, the band were taken by the reaction they received from audiences. From a-ha’s Take on Me to The Turtles’ Happy Together, Weezer (The Teal Album) sees the band tackle 10 classic songs.

Weezer (The Teal Album) precedes the bandā€™s forthcoming new album, Weezer (The Black Album), which will be released on March 1st 2019. Weezer (The Black Album) was produced by TV On The Radioā€™s Dave Sitek.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo wrote all the songs on piano with band members switching up instruments in the studio. The video for the albumā€™s current single, Canā€™t Knock The Hustle, can be seen below:

Weezer will join Pixies on the road this spring for North American arena dates. They will perform a headlining stop at New York Cityā€™s prestigious Madison Square Garden with special guests TV On The Radio before performing on Coachellaā€™s Main Stage.

The band will then head to Europe for a number of headline dates and festivals.
