Top 5 Louise music videos

Louise resumed her music career in 2017 following the huge success she had on the 2016 series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing and in the touring production of Cabaret.

In December she played her first live show in years at London’s Under the Bridge. The sold-out show had fans buzzing and critics lavished the singer with praise. Following a performance at G-A-Y on New Year’s Eve, Louise is seeing in the New Year with her Live & Intimate Tour.

Fans can see her performing in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London later this month. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting years to see Louise live so I’m pretty excited.

In celebration of her tour, I’ve put together a list of her Top 5 music videos…

5. Light Of My Life (1995)

Louise’s debut single as a solo artist, Light Of My Life remains one of her most under-rated. The gorgeous ballad caught people off guard following Louise’s exist from Eternal and it showcased her vocals away from the group. A Top 10 hit, it was responsible for launching her career and it remains one of her finest songs. Also how amazing does she look in the video?

4. 2 Faced (2000)

In terms of chart positions, 2 Faced is Louise’s highest to date. The song peaked at number 3 and was the lead single from Louise’s 2000 album Elbow Beach. Taking a breezier pop feel than fans had heard before, 2 Faced packed an important message that remains all too relevant in modern society. The song is as catchy as they come and the video is super feisty.

3. Undivided Love (1996)

The follow-up to Top 5 hit Naked, Undivided Love upped the raunch factor and started to move Louise away from her wholesome girl next door look. The black-and-white clip shows Louise looking effortlessly sexy while dancing with a cane (something she more recently said she would be happy never to do again).

2. Pandora’s Kiss (2003)

Marking a change in direction for Louise, Pandora’s Kiss was a hybrid of R&B/pop with a rock edge. The single was released as a double A-side with Don’t Give Up and the video saw Louise exuding confidence as she performed in a box being kicked around by some youths. Pandora’s Kiss was supposed to be the lead single from Louise’s fourth album but she shelved her plans when she became pregnant. Songs have leaked from the recording sessions for the album and it sounded pretty damn good to me.

1. Naked (1996)

One word for this video – iconic! Light Of My Life may have hit the Top 10 but follow-up In Walked Love struggled in the Top 20. Naked turned everything around thanks to an image overhaul, a catchy and playful melody, and that figure-hugging outfit! This is the first time Louise really showed her solo popstar potential carrying out intricate dance routines and cooing her way through her best track to date. It was all very Janet Jackson in the best possible way.
