With 2015 almost at an end, it’s time to look back at all of the things that we’ve loved over the course of the year.

In 2015 there have been many great pop songs released and it’s actually been hard to just pick 10 of our favourites. With hundreds of songs released on a monthly basis, I’ve selected the very finest pop gems from the year. I’ve not taken into account chart position or commercial success with my ranking – I’ve simply picked the 10 songs that I’ve had on repeat most of 2015.

Did your favourite song from 2015 make out Top 10 pop songs of 2015 countdown? Keep reading to find out…

10. Janet Jackson – No Sleeep

Janet Jackson made her long-awaited return to music this year with new album Unbreakable. The lead single was the sumptuous No Sleeep, which proved to be a grower rather than an instant favourite. Janet’s silky vocals, the seductive beat and those layered vocals marked the return of one of the world’s best pop stars.

9. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town

We’re not sure what we expected from Adam Lambert’s third album The Original High but it wasn’t Ghost Town. The song showed a real evolution for Adam marrying dark electro-rhythms with a more restrained vocal from the singer. Ghost Town is incredible catchy and never fails to get me dancing.

8. Justin Bieber – Sorry

I never thought I’d be ranking a Justin Bieber song in my Top 10 but Sorry was a stroke of genius. After the intriguing What Do You Mean? Sorry was a fantastic follow-up. It both tried to make amends for his bad boy ways and stuck two fingers up at his critics. good work Bieber, good work!

7. Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself

The actress turned singer delivered one of the most underrated songs of the year. Her distinctive vocal elevated the catchy pop track to great heights as she sung about loving yourself and not needing a lover. It’s packed with double entendres and it’s one of the most infectious songs of the year.

6. Rihanna feat Kanye West & Sir Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds

Rihanna can still surprise after all these years and that’s what she did with FourFiveSeconds. The acoustic track with Sir Paul McCartney and Kanye West was the rawest thing we’ve heard from the singer and it was simply fantastic. I just wish she’d get on and release hr bloody album!

5. Selena Gomez – Good For You

Selena Gomez evolved from a child star to a mature artist with the release of Good For You. Throwing the pop formula out of the window, Good For You teamed the singer up with A$AP Rocky and gave her a seductive R&B/hip-hop leaning makeover. The end result was one hell of a sexy midtempo jam that made me really take notice of Selena as a popstar.

4. Adele – Hello

This had to be on the list didn’t it? No one sings like Adele and Hello is deservedly the biggest track of the year. Just hearing Adele’s huge voice gives me goosebumps and it proved to be a welcome return and the perfect introduction to her stunning album 25.

3. Demi Lovato – Cool for the Summer

Like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato grew up this year and Cool for the Summer was a sexy, suggestive slice of electro-pop. With a dirty bass line, fantastic vocals and a soaring chorus, Cool for the Summer was definitely my song of the summer this year.

2. Little Mix – Black Magic

Ah Little Mix. They’re still not as big as they ought to be but Black Magic was complete and utter genius. It’s one of the best songs the girl group has ever released and it’s catchy as hell. The song has lived on for months after its release and I’m still not tired of hearing its shiny pop melodies.

1. Fleur East – Sax

The X Factor runner-up Fleur East may have used Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk as her template but there’s no denying that Sax is one hell of a huge pop song. From the the booming beat to Fleur’s sassy delivery, it was an easy winner of pop song of the year for me. I just wish it had hit number 1!
