The Lumineers will release new album Cleopatra on 8th April 2016 following the release of new single Ophelia today it has been announced.
The multi-Grammy nominated band teamed up with producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers) for the new record, which was recorded in The Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, NY, not far from Woodstock.
“We took the same approach this time as we did with the first album, recording demos in a small house we rented in the original Denver neighborhood where we first moved,” explains band member Wesley Schultz, contributing the lyrical ideas while collaborating on the music with Jeremiah (Fraites), who tackled a variety of instruments, including guitar, the very prominent piano and trademark tribal drums.
The band will embark on a headline UK tour in April. The full dates are:
Thur Apr 14 – Bristol, O2 Academy
Fri Apr 15 – Glasgow, Barrowlands
Tue Apr 19 – Manchester, Albert Hall
Sat Apr 23 – London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
The Lumineers enjoyed a breakthrough with their single Ho Hey and it’s follow-up Stubborn Love. Their self-titled debut album sold over 3 million copies worldwide.
