Sturgill Simpson to release A Sailor’s Guide to Earth in April

Sturgill Simpson will release his new album A Sailor’s Guide to Earth on 15th April 2016 on Atlantic Records.

Available to pre-order now, the album is Simpson’s third and the first single from the album is Brace For Impact (Live a Little). Fans who pre-order the album get the single as an instant download.

A Sailor’s Guide to Earth was produced by Simpson and recorded primarily at Nashvilleā€™s The Butcher Shoppe. For the album he was joined by Grammy Award-winning engineer David Ferguson (Johnny Cash, John Prine, ā€œCowboyā€ Jack Clement) and assistant engineer Sean Sullivan. Along with members of his touring band, the album features Dave Roe on bass, Dan Dugmore on steel guitar, Dougie Wilkinson on bagpipes, Garo Yellin and Arthur Cook on cello, Jonathan Dinklage and Whitney LaGrange on violin and special guests The Dap-Kings.

Simpson and his band will hit the road in May and June for shows in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City, Lexington, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Indianapolis, Louisville, Royal Oak, MI, Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis.
