Randy Houser to release new album Magnolia

US country star Randy Houser has announced the release of his hotly-anticipated new album, Magnolia.

The record will be released on 2nd November on Stoney Creek Records, and is available for fans to pre-order digitally now. Houser spent two years working on the record, which he co-produced with his friend Keith Gattis at the latter’s East Nashville studio.

“This album was a total reset for me in every way possible. With the last album, I just didn’t have time to create, and it was obvious that it didn’t all come from my guts. Because of that, the music just didn’t feel as genuine,” said Houser. “When writing for this new project, I knew the production had to lean on songs and melodies, not a bunch of tricks and loops. That was the catalyst for album. So, for the past two years we’ve been focused on trying to find a unique sound and trying to best serve the songs.”

To mark the album announcement, Houser has also released the new song No Stone Unturned, one of his personal favourites from the record. It combines a driving rhythm with twangy guitar and Houser’s trademark bluesy, powerful vocals, as he narrates the story of a weary traveller.

Magnolia takes its title from Houser’s home state of Mississippi’s nickname, The Magnolia State. Houser co-wrote every track on the record and plays lead guitar on many of the songs. The album’s lead single, What Whiskey Does, was released in June and debuted at number Most Added on country radio.

Houser will also take to the road this autumn to promote the record. The Magnolia Tour begins in Porterville, California on 12th October and includes eight dates across the US, as well as three shows in Australia. Tickets will go on sale on Fans who purchase tickets to the tour will also receive a copy of Magnolia. Future dates will be announced at a later date.

Houser has had four number 1 hits in the US, as well as racking up a slew of awards and critical acclaim. He made his UK debut last year as part of Country Music Week, where he appeared on the CMA Songwriters Series tour as well as playing a solo show in London.
