The Overtones return with new album & 2015 tour

The Overtones will return with new studio album Sweet Soul Music on 9th February 2015 which will be supported by a new tour.

Sweet Soul Music sees the five-piece vocal harmony group pay tribute to doo-wop and soul pioneers such as The Drifters, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations. The album as recorded at Sarm Studios with producer Julian Hinton (Seal, Rumer, Trevor Horn).

ā€œTheyā€™re all classic songs which ruled the airwaves,ā€ says Timmy Matley. ā€œItā€™s been a real pleasure to take on these big songs, weā€™ve stretched our voices – our vocal abilities, our harmonies, our whole approach and moved into a different gear.ā€

ā€œApart from making you dance, soul music really does hit you in the heart,ā€ adds Lachie Chapman. ā€œThereā€™s also often such a beautiful sentiment behind these songs which is why weā€™re still listening to them fifty years later. Theyā€™re really universal and I think they have something that everyone can relate to.ā€

Sweet Soul Music includes three brand new original songs including Something Good, Giving Me Soul and Moving On. The tracklisting is:
