New DJ Yoda album Home Cooking dropping this week

DJ Yoda has been a busy man of late, not only does he seem to be constantly on tour but he’s also put together new album Home Cooking, which will be released on 12th April.

Over the years Yoda has likely been more famous for his How to Cut and Paste mixes but more recently he has really stepped up his hip-hop production skills with the album Chop Suey and one of my all-time favourite albums Breakfast of Champions.

The Home Cooking album has been described as “keeping one foot in the hip-hop old school” with collaborations with the Jungle Brothers (the party-starting Afrika) and Boston bastion EdoG (a peaceful route from London to Roxbury), and spreads to a melodic vibe scoring chilled Sunday mornings, imbued with the spirit of Guru’s Jazzmatazz, the output of Acid Jazz and 90s vitals from A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul.

There are already 3 singles available from the album Roxbury, Afrika and London Fields if you want to get a taste for the album.

As if this wasn’t enough, to celebrate 20 years of How to Cut and Paste DJ Yoda is releasing all of the cut and paste mixes on a limited edition USB cassette tape! This will include all of the How to Cut and Paste mixes plus loads more to boot. It retails at £24.99 which is a bargain for so much music (I’ve already ordered mine!).

If you want to pre-order check out the links in the tweet above.
