Her Madgesty is celebrating her 60th birthday this month so we’re dedicating August to the Queen of Pop. We will be picking our A to Z of Madonna singles each day this month as well as asking you to vote for your favourite Madonna album.
Today is brought to you by the letter U…kinda.
U is for U’ll (ok so it’s You’ll) See. This gorgeous track was the lead single from ballads collection Something to Remember in 1995. Following Erotica, Bedtime Stories and her SEX book, this album was a definite shift to focus on Madonna’s musical capabilities and singing talent. What a beautiful point, well made with this song.
- Madonna wrote and produced You’ll See with David Foster who also co-wrote I Have Nothing for Whitney Houston amongst many other hits to his name
- The video acted as a sequel to 1994’s Take A Bow with both directed by Michael Haussman who had previously worked with Martika and Chris Isaak and went on to work with Britney, J-Lo and Justin Timberlake
- A spanish language alternative version of the track called Verás appears on the Latin America version of Something To Remember
