Lauryn Hill has been confirmed as the first headliner for Blackpool’s Livewire 2019 festival.
The rapper and singer will perform on Saturday 24th August 2019 at Blackpoolās Tower Headland Arena. Hill is best-known as one third of The Fugees and for her huge-selling solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
She has had hits with songs such as Killing Me Softly, Ready or Not and No Woman No Cry with The Fugees and Doo Wop (That Thing), Ex-Factor and Everything is Everything as a solo artist.
Hill will be joined by other acts, who will be announced in the coming weeks.
Livewire’s 2018 festival was cancelled due to the ill-health of key personnel. A spokesperson for Blackpool Council said, āwe are delighted to see the return of Livewire. It promises to deliver a feast of live entertainment to the Tower Festival Headland and adds yet another dimension to a brilliant programme of events lined up for Blackpool this summer.ā

In 2017, Livewire’s inaugural year, the festival featured performances from Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Jacksons.
