RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) has announced the acts taking part in their inaugural See Through Sound concert taking place on Friday 14th October 2016.
Badly Drawn Boy is the headliner for the event and he will be joined by former Liberty X member turned The Voice UK winner Kevin Simm, Newton Faulkner, Doc Brown and Andy Jordan.
The concert will take place at Cadogan Hall in London on Friday 14th October 2016. To accompany the fantastic auditory experience, audience members will be given āsim specsā (glasses simulating sight loss), providing an insight into living with sight loss and creating a unique atmosphere for concert-goers and artists alike.
Damon Gough, better known as Badly Drawn Boy, said āIām truly delighted to be playing at See Through Sound. Most of us take our sight for granted, this is an opportunity to understand a perspective on sound from people with limited or no vision.ā
Talking about why he’s involved in the show, Kevin Simm said, āthe fact that sight has never been an issue for me has most definitely made me take it for granted and only since my son had to start wearing quite heavy prescription glasses did I really stop and think how lucky I am.ā
Wanda Hamilton, RNIB Group Director of Fundraising, said: ‘RNIBās See Through Sound aims to both entertain and educate music fans, providing them with the opportunity to experience live music in a whole new way. This concert will support us in achieving our goal of making every day better for the more than two million people living with sight loss across the UK.’
Tickets priced at Ā£25 are available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk/seethroughsound or by calling 0844 844 0444.
