Katy Perry has released the visually stunning futuristic video for her new single Chained to the Rhythm.
Directed by Matthew Cullen (Jay-Z, Beck), who also helmed the videos for Dark Horse and California Gurls, Chained to the Rhythm features Skip Marley and sees Katy exploring a theme park called Oblivia. The video was shot over three days at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA.
The video was produced by Danny Lockwood, Rob Newman, Ben Leiser and Javier Jimenez.
Chained to the Rhythm topped 20 million streams in its first week, with three million of those happening on the day of release setting Katy an all-time record for the best first day of streaming of a single track by a female artist in Spotify history.
Katy co-wrote Chained to the Rhythm with Max Martin, Sia Furler, Ali Payami and Skip Marley. It is expected that Katy will release her eagerly awaited new album later this year.
