Singer-songwriter Kashena Sampson will release her debut album WIld Heart on 18th May 2018 via her own label New Moon Records.
The album announcement comes as it’s revealed that Sampson will be heading back to the UK to perform at Red Rooster Festival on 1st June 2018. She will be sharing the stage with the likes of Eli Paperboy Reed, Gill Landry and Yola Carter.
In January Sampson performed at the UK Americana Awards showcases where she wowed the audiences and picked up critical acclaim. Her debut single It’s A Long Way Back made waves with media such as The 405 and BBC Radio Scotland’s Ricky Ross praising it.
For those who haven’t heard her music yet, Sampson is described as a combination of ’70s folk-rock aesthetic and sound, which draws on a California country and classic Laurel Canyon’. She’s been likened to artists such as Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt.
Sampson’s writing is inspired by her life experiences up to this point: āI was drinking and doing a lot of drugs when I was younger, that was my main focus. I partied hard and ended up getting sober at 21, since then I have turned my focus and energy towards my music.”
Sampson will be embarking on a UK tour later this year, with dates and more details to be announced soon.
