Jessie Ware has released her new song Midnight, the first to be taken from her upcoming third studio album.
The song premiered on Radio 1 on Thursday night and was released to streaming and download services yesterday. Midnight was co-written with Kiah Victoria, Jordan Thomas and Bastian Langebaek and is described as “fantasy mixed with complete and utter desire”.
Talking about the track Ware admits it’s “the song I’ve always wanted to be able to sing but perhaps didn’t have the confidence until now”.
For her new album Ware has been writing and recording with Felix and Hugo White (The Maccabees), Kid Harpoon, Ed Sheeran and long-term collaborator and close friend Benny Blanco.
The album is Ware’s first since Tough Love, which was released three years ago. Ware has sold over a million records worldwide.
Earlier this week it was announced that Ware’s live residency at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on the 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th of September had sold out in minutes.
