Janet Jackson has celebrated her birthday today by announcing her long-awaited return to music.
The popstar released a video in which her voice can be heard as she tells fans, ‘I promised you’d hear it from my lips…and now you will. This year – new music, new world tour, a new movement.’ In a tweet with the video she simply put ‘My conversation… #ConversationsInACafe’ leaving fans to speculate that Conversations in a Cafe may be a single or album title.
Janet’s new album will be her first since 2008’s Discipline and her first new material since 2009’s Make Me, which was taken from the star’s greatest hits collection The Best. Speculation has been rife for weeks that Janet was planning to make her musical comeback this year.
Since the release of The Best, Janet has kept a relatively low profile and in 2013 he married Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana. Earlier this year a Janet fan posted a tongue-in-cheek missing persons poster which the star took note of and retweeted to her followers.
