Glastonbury 2016 line-up yay or nay?

Glastonbury has revealed a long list of names, which will be part of its 2016 line-up. The announcement seems to have been met with mixed feelings and understandably so with Muse, Adele and Coldplay all headlining and it seems all a bit random. It should come to no surprise that Adele and Coldplay are on the bill, as both acts have dropped a new album and are currently touring.

So is it yay or nay?

Nay to no US superstars

If the line-up isn’t to your taste and were hoping for some American superstars like Beyonce or Rihanna then I guess 2016 won’t be that year even though chances are there will be other massive superstars. Even so if you set your mind to seeing someone specific its hard to shake that.

Nay to value for money

You’ve spent over 200 quid and now you are stuck with Coldplay. I guess you could have gone to a beach resort for a week somewhere in Europe but you’re stuck with Glasto instead and now don’t even want to go coz the line-up is not what you wanted and/or the weather might turn (that is a big possibility)

Nay to the mud

Chances are, and with Glastonbury’s history it will be muddy and it will be a big, wet mess. It might not but anyone has heard the stories of washed up tents, mud arenas and the impossible task that festival-goers faced trying to move from one arena to the next. It’s pretty shit really but you made dos coz you have spent an absolute fortune and now you’re there…so make the best of it?!

Yay to more acts

That being said anyone who’s been to Glastonbury will know that the latest line-up announcement is a drop in the ocean and many more acts will be revealed and there WILL BE something for everyone. So whatever side you stand on about the line-up you shouldn’t get your hopes up just yet.

Yay to all the amazing areas, who needs the Pyramid stage anyway?

With almost 30 distinct areas, Glastonbury is the mecca of all music festivals, often copied but never rivalled. You can lose yourself in the dance fields, find yourself in Shangri La or simply hang out in the main arena where the biggest names in music will be playing!

Yay to adventures

Anyone who has been to Glastonbury though will tell you that its all about the adventure. Think about it, this is one of the biggest festivals in the world and it can take up to one hour to move between areas so don’t waste it on chasing acts. Instead enjoy the journey and find your own adventure…

For your musical pleasure here’s a playlist of all acts already revealed.
