Emeli Sande to release new single Hurts this month

Emeli Sande will release her new single Hurts on 16th September 2016 it has been announced.

Produced and co-written with Mac & Phil (Miguel, Naughty Boy), Hurt embodies both raw pain and joyful redemption as Sandé sings ‘You could at least try look at me/ Man oh man what a tragedy/ Bang bang there goes paradise….Baby I’m not made of stone, it hurts/ Loving you the way I do, it hurts’.

“I wanted to release Hurts first because it felt like everything I’d avoided saying for so long,” says Sandé, “It’s a real explosion. It’s everything I wish I’d said years and years ago. I didn’t want to hold anything back anymore.”

It has been four years since the release of Sande’s 7x Platinum debut album Our Version Of Events and Hurts is Sande’s first solo single since 2012’s Clown, which has become a popular audition song on The X Factor and The Voice UK.

Hurts is taken from Sande’s upcoming second album, which is due for release later this year.
