Christmas Gift Guide: NYE events

Christmas is the time of cheer, roast dinners and usually if you’re me also the time to receive some useless presents. To some of us though Christmas is also the start of the countdown to New Year’s Eve. No matter if you are an all year round partygoer or just out for special occasions or none NYE is the one night that sees almost every goblin come out to party.

We are always keen on a good party and this year will be no exception. So whether you don’t know what to do or want to make a great gift here is a little guide to help you pick, which event to attend.

Circo Loco New Year’s Day party

Circo Loco body

First up on the list is not a NYE party but rather the notoriously famous Circo Loco New Year’s Day celebration. Like no other party this is the one rave that distinguishes the true ravers from the wannabes.

With a lineup that boasts Circo Loco favourites, red-hot producers and some of 2013’s brightest stars, Circo Loco New Year’s Day 2014 comes to London promising to be nothing short of incredible. On January 1 The Coronet in London plays host to a collection of artists that could only be brought together by the masterminds at Circo Loco. And with Davide Squillace, Tale of Us, Damian Lazarus, Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed, System of Survival, Clive Henry and Robert James playing nine full party-hard hours, this is one not to miss.

Mayor of London’s NYE fireworks display

There are many things to do on NYE, you can go down to your local, enjoy a special meal in a fancy restaurant but at least once you should try and catch London’s fireworks.

This show at the London Eye is famous around the world. Once midnight strikes Big Ben’s famous ‘gongs’ will resonate and the largest fireworks display will follow.

Over 250,000 people travel to central London to see this event and the best part is that it’s all completely free. It’s not just about fireworks though as the celebration continues until 12.45am with a live DJ set. As you’ll part of a huge crowd it will be easier to leave if you stay till the end.
