Closing out the Spotlight Stage at The O2 Arena in London at this year’s C2C: Country to Country 2018 will be Walker Hayes.
The journey to chart success has been a tough one for the singer-songwriter. He signed to Capitol Records Nashville and released his first single Pants, which was a moderate hit. That was followed up with Hayes’ self-titled debut album and second single Why Wait For Summer. Due to the lack of commercial success, the deal came to an end and Hayes found himself back to square one as he tried to continue to pursue his dreams.
In 2016 Hayes signed a deal with songwriter/producer Shane McAnally. He released two EPs and started to create a buzz due to his unique and distinctive sound. In 2017 Hayes scored his first Top 10 single with the catchy You Broke Up With Me, a song that explored his relationship with Nashville following the loss of his record deal with Capitol Records Nashville.
In December Hayes released his album boom. to rave reviews from critics and he’s finally on an upward trajectory. The album features a variety of sounds, pushing the boundaries of what is considered Country music, and Hayes wrote or co-wrote every single track. Boom. is packed with plenty of heart, honesty and emotion.
In March Hayes will arrive in the UK to perform at C2C. Fans can see him on the BBC Radio 2 Stage on Saturday 10th March and on the Spotlight Stage, at the Bluebird Café and at the after party on Sunday 11th March.
