James Bay, George The Poet and Years & Years have been revealed as the shortlisted nominees for the Critics’ Choice Award at The BRIT Awards.
The award, which identifies the best future British music stars, has been previously won by Sam Smith, Tom Odell, Emeli Sande and Adele.
Talking about the nomination James Bay said, āI still can’t believe it. As much as I hoped, being nominated for the BRITs Criticsā Choice Award is not something I ever imagined would actually happen. What a huge honour.ā
Fellow nominee George The Poet said, āI feel privileged to have been shortlisted for the BRITs Criticsā Choice Award. I always dreamed of reaching people and this nomination shows me that Iām on track.ā
The only group nominee this year Years & Years said, “Having grown up watching the BRITs we’re unbelievably honoured and to be honest quite overwhelmed to be included in the Criticsā Choice Award. We’re so grateful to be making music and having this sort of recognition is crazy and ridiculous and nuts in a really good way. Thanks BRITs!ā
The BRITs Critics’ Choice Award is chosen by a panel of music industry experts and tastemakers including music editors of national newspapers, magazines and websites as well as key players.
The BRIT Awards 2015 with MasterCard take place on Wednesday 25th February at The O2 and will be exclusively broadcast on ITV.
