Boyzone to bow out with final album Thank You & Goodnight in November

Boyzone are calling it a day with the release of their final album Thank You & Goodnight on 16th November 2018.

After 25 years together, the foursome will bow out following the release of the album and a 2019 headline tour, which kicks off in January.

Talking about their incredible career, Boyzone said: ā€œWhen we started out as five young Dublin Northsiders, eager to face the world, we never imagined that weā€™d still have an army of fans some twenty-five years later… If youā€™d seen our famous first TV appearance on The Late Late Show, youā€™d probably be surprised too!

But what followed was the stuff of dreams. Weā€™ve played stadiums and arenas all over the world, released six albums, and had almost two-dozen hits. We really canā€™t put into words just how much you, the fans, have supported us along the way. Without that support, we would have never achieved what we have, and for that weā€™re eternally grateful.”

They went on to discuss the loss of their bandmate Stephen Gately saying: “Weā€™ve had some tough times too. The loss of Stephen left scars that we will carry as a band forever. We were immensely touched by all the tributes and messages of support that helped us through the dark days. Stephen was our brother and will always be at the very the heart of Boyzone.”

For Thank You & Goodnight, Boyzone recorded a new song called I Can Dream, which was originally a demo for Gately’s 2002 solo album. They re-worked the track alongside Gately’s lead vocal as a tribute to the late star.

Boyzone have collaborated with Ed Sheeran and Gary Barlow on the record along with producers including Xenomaniaā€™s Toby Scott, John Shanks (Take That, Westlife), Swedish hitmakers Goldfingers and Steve Soloman (James Arthur, Jason Mraz).
