Ash have released the music video for their latest single Confessions in the Pool.
The track is lifted from the band’s Top 20 album Islands, released earlier this year, and follows the 6Music playlisted singles Buzzkill and Annabel. The video parodies ideas of religious devotion, with a nod towards Monty Python.
Speaking about the new video Ash say, āThe video is a surreal play on the song title. It takes the Confessions idea and runs with it so far it becomes surreal meditation on belief and salvation in the modern age. Blessed are the cheese makers!ā
The video’s arrival comes after the band announced three Irish shows for December. The newly announced shows will take place following the band’s UK headline dates in October.
Islands is Ash’s first studio album since 2015’s Kablammo! It marks a return to Infectious Music, who released the band’s number one albums 1996ās 1977 and Free All Angels in 2001.
The record was produced by frontman Tim Wheeler and features guest vocals from The Undertonesā Damien OāNeill and Mickey Bradley. It has additional production from Mark Hamilton, Rick McMurray and Claudius Mittendorfer
