APE presents 2018: The National profile

The National play their largest headline show to date at one of three APE Presents… stand alone shows. This Saturday, The National will be joined by very special guests, The War on Drugs, who bring their critically acclaimed recent album, A Deeper Understanding to Victoria park, also on the bill are live favourites Future Islands Warpaint, The Districts and more.

The award-winning band has spent the past two decades creating some of the most memorable indie rock albums in history. From the underground breakthrough Alligator through to their triumphant recent record, Sleep Well Beast, which earned the band a Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. The Ohio band, comprised of the brothers Dessner and Devendorf alongside livewire frontman Matt Berninger, has achieved a rare emotional connection with its music. Undoubtedly their performance this Saturday will be unforgettable and not be missed.

The National commented: “After a thrilling 4 sold out shows at the Eventim Apollo in September, we are excited to take over Victoria Park next summer. We are already thinking about ways to make this more than just a show.”
