Adele has debuted the music video for her brand new single Send My Love (To Your New Lover), which is taken from her huge-selling album 25.
Directed by Patrick Daughters (Feist, Muse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), takes the idea of ghosts figuratively and layers those ghosts around Adele to give the video a hauntingly beautiful effect.
“Ghosts in this case are versions of ourselves that remain stuck at particular point in the past” explains Daughters. “So when Adele sings about letting go of all of our ghosts, I picture other versions of her that are in a different place than where she is now.”
Send My Love (To Your New Lover) made its debut during last night’s live broadcast of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. The song is the third to be lifted from 25 following Hello and When We Were Young.
Adele is currently touring Europe. She will headline this year’s Glastonbury Festival from 22nd to 26th June before kicking off a sold out tour of North America on the 5th July, which runs through to the 15th November.
