The Great Escape 2016: Little Brother Eli interview

The day has finally come and The Great Escape festival starts today! If you are heading down to Brighton then many surprises await you and most importantly a vast and generous amount of good music.

I caught up with Little Brother Eli the bluesy, rock band from Oxford ahead of their performance.

Can you introduce your act?

We’re Little Brother Eli – 5 piece rock and roll band from Oxfordshire.

What type of music do you do for anyone who hasn’t heard it before?

We play Bluesy Garage Rock, but that doesn’t quite cover it! Our influences span from Hip Hop to The Beatles.

Where can people find your music?

Check us out on Spotify or iTunes (to pre-Oder the album) or on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Soundcloud.

Are there any releases coming up?

Our debut album comes out 24th June! And we’re extremely proud of it. You can pre-order it on iTunes

What do you think makes The Great Escape such a great platform for new music?

Well it’s one of the few big events where you can stumble into a venue and just discover a new unsigned band you’ve never heard before.

Have you played at the Great Escape festival before?

We played last year and loved it! This year we’re back with a vengeance hoping to make some waves…

Where and when can people see you at The Great Escape?

Check us out at on Saturday 21st May:

East Street Tap at 10pm

And…

North Laine Brewhouse 7pm

We’ll also be busking round the town with our acoustic guitars.

How would you describe your live shows?

We love playing live. There’s a lot of dancing and leaping about the stage in suits. I suggest people come check it out for themselves.

Is there anyone you’re hope to see at the festival?

Looking forward to the talented Cameron A G, a local oxford songwriter with a lot of talent!

The Great Escape festival starts on 19th May 2016.
