Rob Mayes has debuted the music video for his debut Country single Closer.
The actor-singer teamed up with director Christine Solomon for the clip, which shows Mayes romancing his on-screen love interest Ana Kharisova Carter. The video was shot over three in Malibu and Griffith Park.

The video was a collaboration with editor Richard Wells, VFX artist Carl Stern (The Walking Dead, Narcos, The Jungle Book), post-production producer David Brown (Outlander) and the Picture Shop led by Tom Kendall (Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: New Orleans, The Middle).
“When we were brainstorming for the concept of this music video I wanted it to feel like I was taking the viewer on a date to all of my favorite locations in LA. We wanted the video to feel real and fun,” commented Mayes.
Closer has been impacting on Country radio across the US and follow-up Road With No Lines has been getting a great reaction (we included it among our Top 10 Country songs of the year so far). Mayes is due to release his debut EP in the coming months.
While he’s releasing music, Mayes also has some acting projects on the go including a Western film titled, A Soldier’s Heart where he stars alongside Val Kilmer, AnnaLynne McCord and Jake Busey. The film is set for release later this year.
