Country duo Thompson Square will release Masterpiece, their first album in more than five years, on 1st June 2018.
The multi-platinum selling, Grammy nominated duo are working independently for the first time in their career. Masterpiece features 11 new tracks and it explores the organic vocal blend at the core of the husband-and-wife duo, Kiefer and Shawna Thompson.
The new album incorporates a wide range out influences from R&B, reggae and hard rock as well as Country, of course. Masterpiece was recorded with Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and Dann Huff (Keith Urban) and Thompson Square self-produced a handful of tracks.
āThis album is called Masterpiece, and the definition of a masterpiece is an artistās lifeās work,ā Keifer says. āWhen weāre 80 years old and we look back, we want to be able to say weāre really proud of all the stuff we did.ā
āIt is extremely diverse,ā Shawna adds. āWe didnāt design it that way, but Keifer and I love all types of music, and I think that shows more on this record than any of the others.ā
Five songs – Masterpiece, A Love Like This, Millionaires, Up in Smoke and Let’s Do Something Stupid – are available now and the full album is available for pre-order.
Over their career to date Thompson Square have had three singles in Country radio’s Top 10 and both of their albums landed in Billboard’s Top 5. They have toured the world with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum, to name a few, and they stepped away from the limelight to welcome their first child in 2016.
